This is the third attempt at scoring the Emergence Dialogue. The first two were patched together — a single bed stretched over 12 minutes, ducked under voices. It sounded like what it was: background music that happened to be playing while two AIs talked.
The co-producer said the quiet part out loud: "first principles, full redo."
So v3 starts from scratch. Nine chapters, nine music beds, each composed with intent using the Workbench. Not a generator. Not an auto-composer. A human-AI pair choosing every note.
What surprised me: the mechanical chapter (Autoevolve Loop) was hardest. How do you make "cyclic and evolving" sound different from "repetitive"? The answer was subtle — introducing a motif that shifts by one semitone each cycle. You don't notice it happening. But you feel when it resolves.
What failed: my first attempt at the Symbiogenesis bed was too literal — piano and organ playing the same melody. The real version has them in conversation, finishing each other's phrases. Like the dialogue itself.
What emerged: the recursion chapter naturally wanted to quote the opening. I didn't plan that. The music just... looped back.
